Subland Core Drill

Available in:
High Speed Steel, Carbide Tipped, Solid Carbide.
Description
The construction is basically two core drills of different diameters combined into one tool, but retaining the individual characteristics and proper geometry of each drill diameter. The independent flutes and margins of the subland construction ensures that size and concentricity between diameters is maintained throughout the life of the tool and those key features are never affected by re-sharpening the drill point or step angles.
Applications
These drills are used to open up pre-drilled or cast holes, they eliminate secondary operations by drilling multidiameter holes in one production pass.In addition the tool can be used for other combined operations such as: Piloted Counterbores, Core Drill Reamers or Finish Step Ream two concentric bores in one pass, depending on the part tolerance.
Limitations
These drills are not practical when the small diameter is less than 60% of the large diameter on (3-3) construction and less than 75% on (4-4) construction.
