Step Core Drill

Available in:
High Speed Steel, Carbide Tipped, Solid Carbide
Description
Norbac Tools Step Core Drills offer a big advantage over modified Standard Core Drills. Altering a standard core drill to make it into step construction is not always practical because the standard drill is produced with a core diameter and spiral to suit the normal diameter of the original tool. Grinding a step on a Standard Core Drill makes the spiral become slower and in addition the reduced diameter may have insufficient chip clearing capacity. Norbac Tools Step Core Drills are built to order with a flute formation specifically designed to suit both diameters and of course to suit the material to be cut.
Applications
The Step Core drill eliminates secondary operations by drilling multi-diameter holes in one production pass, refer to the various hole styles as listed below. In addition to opening up existing pre-drilled or cast holes the tools can be used for other combined operations such as: Piloted counterbore or core drill reamer.
Limitations
Core drills are not designed to drill holes from solid (except for shallow spotfacing applications).
